That it is! There are a few of us here...you, me, Chris_in_Japan...I guess that's about it!

You'd think all the fantastic hobby shops over here would attract more modellers from overseas, but...Tongue [:P]

Hi Greg,
And again, welcome to the forums!
Thanks for the info. Indeed, Yodobashi Cameras all over Japan have very good pricing on hobby stuff, as do Bic Camera, Yamada Denki, and other big shops. I'm lucky enough to have a great LHS right down the street from me that has excellent prices on all their stuff, including Gunze and Tamiya paints. The Gunze stuff isn't quite as cheap as Yodobashi Camera's, but the five-minute walk down the street is a lot cheaper than the hour train ride into Tokyo!

Gunze Paints - Cheapest place I've found in Japan
Posted by Gaijin Modeler on Monday, April 23, 2007 9:53 AM

Hi everyone,

This post is intended for anyone living in Japan or planning to visit the Tokyo area.

I've found the cheapest place to buy Gunze paints is in Akihabara at the Yodobashi Camera. If you are not from around here its the huge store directly accross from the JR Akihabara station, opposite side of all the electronic shops. You can pick up any Gunze paint there for around 85 yen a piece (about 70 cents each). Its a steal considering they cost about 125 yen at the hobby shop near my house!
