Testors Laquer Glosscote

The dangers are that shrinkage of the Lacquer Glosscoat may pull the Pollyscale off the surface, or that the solvents in the lacquer will attack the acrylic.

Whether or not the first happens will depend on how well  you cleaned the plastic surface before you applied the Polly Scale.

Whether or not the second happens will depend on the solvents in the lacquer. The only way to determine that, short of prying it out of the manufacturer by main force, is to spray a piece of clean scrap with Polly Scale, allow it to cure, and they spray the lacquer over it. If it works, the only thing  you have to wonder about is whether or not you got the plastic clean enough. 

As an alternative to using Testor's gloss laquer, you could use Future Acrylic floor finish, which would work just as well and not risk an laquer incompatibities.  If you do end up using the gloss lacquer, make sure to spray light coats.  I've never used the stuff over acrylics, only over enamels, but the one time I did have some issues was once where I sprayed it a bit too heavy which allowed the laquer solvents to attack the underlying paint before they had evaporated off.

You've talked me out of trying that!  Would either of you like to buy a bottle of Laquer Glosscoat...........cheap?? Or trade for a like size container of Future?:>)

I use both glosscote and dullcote over figures painted in acrylics all the time. Have for years. Never a problem. Laid on with an airbrush, you shuold have no problem.
