Be careful not to put it too heavy. Enamel and lacquer clear coats will buckle and wrinkle acrylics if too much sits in one spot.

Sounds like a winner. I will give the testors a try since I have already purchased some but I have been reading great things about the Polly Scale clear flat. Maybe will try that on the next model.

Thanks for the input,

It's been ages since I used Dullcoat, but I have used similar products over acrylics, and I seem to be one of the paint gurus, hereabouts.

You should be fine provided you did your surface prep before applying the Tamiya paint (acrylics are unforgiving of uncleanliness) and you allow the acrylic to cure thoroughly before applying the Dullcoat. "Cure thoroughly" means three days at room temperature, minimum, IMHO. Of course, you can also heat cure to speed things up.

Ross Martinek A little strangeness, now and then, is a good thing… Wink

I have used tesetor's mm enamel dullcoat over tamiya without problems,of course I am careful not to flood it on,just light coats and I have not had any problems.

Tamiya Acrylics and Testors Dullcote

Just finished my first model ever using acrylics (Tamiya) and it didn't turn out half bad. Should I worry or avoid finishing off my model with Testors Dullcote? Would just hate to ruin a decent outcome after all the effort put into the model. Would appreciate some experienced input.

 Thanks,

Paladin
