what is Humbrol Track Color?
Posted by PatlaborUnit1 on Sunday, May 13, 2007 3:50 PM

Hi, Im trying to nail this color down, what on earth color is Humbrol Track Color? I will be using this for the choco-chip camo described over on Armorama for figures.  All colors there were in Humbrol, and I have no idea where to get Humbrol here that has that color.

anyway is it a rusty color? Earthy color? Anything similar to Testors Rust or even Testors Rubber?

On the same subject, what would Khaki Drill come out close to? I have not the first clue on that one.....

Thanks!

David

Now I got ya (replied in Armor as well).

Track color is the red-brown of the 6-Color DCUs (Chocolate Chips).  The darker brown is just that, a dark brown.  I use a leather or chocolate color for it.

Khaki Drill is a khaki with hint of green color.  It is the color of Brit WWII tropical uniforms.

I use Testors Model Master SAC Bomber Tan for it.

Thanks so much Gino and thanks for the pic of the Khaki Drill. Not having a clue I had no idea what it was, and the IPMS Stockholm did not have a good match, other than XF49 Tamiya Khaki (*may be correct, donno) but no other match.

I figured I may be able to use Leather for that deeper red/ brown.

Sorry for the incorrect pattern, I got my terminology cofuzzled (never wore 'em! LOL, got out too soon!)

 Have a good one!
