Does oven cleaner work for this????  I need to remove an acrylic undercoat as well.

I don't know if oven cleaner will work for this, but if you have an acrylic under the Alclad, it should, provided it can get to the acrylic through the Alclad. If you try it and it doesn't work, try light sanding of the Alclad surface and then repeat the oven cleaner. Make sure you rinse the model thoroughly before sanding!
