Once the Tamiya is fully cured (that means I'd wait at least four days, in this situation) you can wash the oil off with dish detergent and water. I know this works with Dawn and Ajax dish deteregents. The procedure is as follows: - Make a small amount of soapy (detergenty?) solution, about 1 to 2 cups of water, and just enough detergent to make a little suds when stirred or shaken.
- Put on latex or nitrile gloves or finger cots. This is to prevent more fingerprints.
- Rinse the affected areas with this solution, wait a moment, then rinse with distilled or deionized water. Do not rub! Do not allow solution to sit on model surface. Then pat the model dry with a clean, lint free cloth or paper towel.
- Repeat step 3 if you still see fingerprints.
- If you have soft water, you can also use either Woolite or Dr. Bronner's soaps. In the case of Dr. Bronner's, "DILUTE! DILUTE! OKAY!" That is, use about two drops per cup of water. It doesn't take much.
- Allow the model to dry for at least 24 hours before overpainting.

A little strangeness, now and then, is a good thing…
