Colour Matches

This question is being reposted in this forum since the friends in Armor couldn't really be bothered...

Could anyone please advice close matches in the TAMIYA range for:

And this is the only reply I had...

For German WWII it gets more complicated.
Kursk: Foe a Tiger I guess you are allright with either RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau (Dark Grey or German Grey) over sprayed with heavy clouds or stripes of RAL 7028 Dunkel Gelb (Dark Yellow), Solid Dark Yellow or Dark Yellow over sprayed with stripes of RAL 6003 Oliv Grun (Olive Green).
In addition to the above for AFV's in general also the new standard scheme where Dark Yellow was over sprayed with Olive Green and RAL 8017 Schokoladenbraun (Chocolate Brown) was used.

I use XF-63 German Grey for RAL 7021, XF-60 Dark Yellow for RAL 7028, XF-10 Flat Brown for RAL 8017 and XF-26 Deep Green for RAL 6003.
None of the above is a true match.

Hope this helps...

This might have been clearified before or it might even be inapropriate to menchon a vendor by name, I have done searches on the site but maybe not enough, I am trying to find my ways arround in here folks.

Well, in looking at your question, the average modeler here would probably wonder why you are trying to adapt Tamiya colors when you can buy Testors MM already in the correct shades as defined by Svenne Duva available at the local hobby store ?

For instance, I chugged in "RAL 7021" into Testors website search block and got this:

 Model Master - 4795, Panzer Schwarzgrau RAL 7021 (f) 1/2 Oz.

If you feel that you are "labouring in vain", perhaps isn't it pehaps because you are trying to "re-invent the wheel"? Whistling [:-^]

I am not trying to re-invent the wheel.

I decided to come back to the hobby after some 15 years so I bought a box with a few Dragon kits, among others a SU-100 fresh out of the box + full range of Tamiya coulours for a bargin price.

So I thought I ask for advice on this forum about how to match the Tamiya coulours to the SU-100 and my favorite subject the German Tiger.

Since Mr. Duva was a bit vague on the russian subject I was hoping that someone might be able to offer further advice.

Thank You
