So far I've only tried their clear flat & satin (with excellent results), but I did pick up a handful of colors during my last excursion to my (not so) local HS, and I'm anxious to try them. Based on the recommendations I've read, I feel I made a good choice.

Jon has pretty much covered it, except that I suspect the first bottle you mentioned has gone bad. Once the paint looks as if there is almost no solvent, it has started to cure and cannot be saved. I'd contact the merchant and ask for a replacement.

One advantage to the odd colors you get when it settles is that you can always tell when you haven't stirred it enough!

I, too, love Polly Scale. I've never had a bad experience with the stuff.

That color weirdness is normal when they're settled. Sounds like it really settled out. Stir it up really, really well. It should recover OK, but I have had one bottle... it was azure blue... that just never did unclump.

I wouldn't add any thinner in the bottle.... though you basically use water to clean it, distilled is best.

I use Pollyscale for everything, and it has worked well for me. The one thing I wonder is if the shipment causes problems- is it flown by air? Wonder if the altitude causes problems? Don't know how it could, but makes me wonder.

The Br. Int. Green should work out to the right color once it's thoroughly mixed. Here's how it looked on the most recent build I used it on, and here's another build using Br. Dark Earth.

I really like Pollyscale, as they brush well, airbrush well and dry fast. At least for me. Wink [;)] Give 'em a good, thorough stir and hopefully they will unclump OK.

Polly Scale paints - Some help & advise please.

Gents

After hearing some generally very good reports about Polly Scale paints, I decided to purchase a few bottles from Hobbylinc.com in the USA as I am in the process of building a couple of BOB Spitfires.

The parcel arrived today and after eagerly ripping it open I am left feeling slightly dissapointed for the following two reasons.

1. I ordered British Dark Earth (F505252), but first look at the bottle the colour looked more like a grey blue with brown specks in it. After opening the bottle all that was there was this horrible gloopy/lumpy half dried up mess that was virtually unstirrable.

Has anybody else had any such experiences as this?

Is it salvagble by adding thinner?

What worries me is the grey/blue colour in the bottle. To me the paint looks like it's seen better days.

2. Interior grey/green colour looks nothing like the colour in Spitfire cockpits.

Has anyone used this colour from Polly Scale before?

Is it ok after a good stir do you think?

Gents, any help or advise would be greatly appreciated as obviously getting these shipped from the States was not cheap (I'm in the UK), and I'm wondering now if it's worth contacting Hobbylinc to see if they would send out a replacement.

Thanks in advance.
