I always buy Grumbacher red sable brushes at Pearl Paint....an art store. They are not cheap, but last longer and do a better job. If used all the time they last about a year a brush....at which time they are retired to use with Tenax... as a glue brush.

Hey Doom! Hope yer still paying attention to this thread. I use brushes exclusively. That's a polite way of saying I'm too poor to buy an AB. I have a wide variety of brushes, each one providing me with different effect. The advice I am going to give (on top of the basic don't leave them standing on the bristle tips and NEVER let enamyl drie on them) is after each use and each wash dip them in hair conditioner then rub into a lather with your finger tips. This keeps the bristles soft and makes them last longer. Git 'er done!
I love the smell of super glue in the morning. Smells like...victory.
