A good wipe down with isopropyl alcohol will work. Gets oil from fingers and all that off.

As for priming under Tamiyas, I don't think it's really necessary. In my relatively limited experience, about a year, they stick to plastics pretty well without it. I've yet to have a problem with rub-off like I have with Vallejos.

I simply submerse the model in the kitchen sink aflter filling it with lukewarm water and add dishwashing liguid and swirl the water around good and scrub large flat areas of the vehicle be careful not to destroy any detail.  Remove after ten or fiften mitutes pat dray and let sit to completely dry overnight.  I paint with enamels so their might be a better way for acrylics.

Hello,

I would like to know the best way to prep the plastic before painting with Tamiya acrylic paint using an airbrush.

After the assembly what is the best way to clean the model befor painting. Also is it a good a idea to prime first before painting with acrylics? I am putting together a 1/35 Tamiya M41 Bulldog Tank.

Thanks,George
