Dullcote is noted for turning white when applied during periods of high humidity - and it doesn't have to be raining to get that (the other day it was 92 here, not a cloud in the sky and we had 90% humidity).  The higher the humidity, the more likely the Dullcote is going to turn white.  I've gotten into the habit of either checking the NOAA Website or the Weather Channel to see what the local humidity is.  And as noted, you can usually correct the problem by spraying on a new coat of Dullcote.

HELP! problem with dullcote!
Posted by Ant on Saturday, July 21, 2007 7:24 AM

Hi all. i have finished 3 1/48 scale planes in the last month, today i went to show a friend my wonderful skills and to my shock i found that all 3 have in various spots white patches. i have had this before and am sure its the dullcote, however i cant workout why?. i make sure i use several light coats and the model is clean.

what can i do to fix this? i was told to give them another light coat and that should cover it. am i doing something wrong with the dullcote or preparation?
