Hi Brad, I can't comment on Iwata airbrushes because I've never used one, but I recently replaced my old Paasche 500 compressor with the Iwata Sprint Jet and I'm very happy with it. It's much quieter than my old Paasche 500, more akin to a humming noise, and pulsation hasn't been an issue (which it was to a degree with the Paasche). I think all Sprint Jets (and Smart Jets, for that matter) include a water trap and regulator, and the regulator that came with mine works just fine. If I'm not mistaken, the main difference between the Sprint and Smart jets is that the latter has an auto shut-off when you are not actually spraying. I was advised by some people that the auto shut-off feature doesn't kick in at the low pressures modelers mostly use, so it's pretty much something you end up paying extra money on but won't use. Hence I went with the Sprint Jet. HTH, Mark
