Iwata HP-C V.S. Eclipse CS ? Need insite.

I have an HP-C and like it. I was asked which was the better AB for models the HP-C or the CS. I have never used the CS and can't make a compareson. I know the CS is a newer design with a different head. Can someone who has experience with both provide some insite for me?   Thanks.

Oooo Rah Msgt! Thanks for your service to this great country and Semper Fi!

I think the CS may be a bit better for modeling as the HP-C was really designed as an illustrators airbrush and does not reliably spray paints like we use as well as a bigger needle tip.

If you can make the HP-C work then that is great but I think the CS and others like it are better for the pigment size of modeling paints.

Thanks Mike! I know what you mean about the pigment size. I also have a CR and do most of my work with it and use the HP-C for detail work.

Hi Greg, I was forunate to practice with both before I purchased my CS.

If your HP-C has the .3-mm nozzle and not the .2-mm then there isn't too much difference between the two. That is what was in my friends at his body shop that I practiced with, the .3-mm nozzle. The CS had the .35-mm nozzle. The HP-C was a bit easier for finer detail work as it produced a smaller over-all spray pattern. The CS took some practice for creating the same fine details (close to hairline) but offered a larger spray pattern, which is what I need for my car modeling.

If you own one you certainly wouldn't need the other.
If you were trying to decide which to buy as your only AB, the below statements should help you pick the correct one.

Will be doing mostly detail work = HP-C
Will be doing general spraying and detail work = CS
