On the market looking for my first Air Brush

Thayer & Chandler Omni 4000, but I won't argue with Mike's recommendation either—bought one of those for my younger son.

I want to jump in in style and with great results from the very beginning.

You might want to shop around for a couple of cans of "Instant Talent" to.  I have yet to see anyone take their first airbrush out of the box and immediately start getting "Great Results".  It takes practice, and lots of it.

Enough?  Nah, there's never enough.  I even started buying OLD ones that I'll never use, like Wold, 50's vintage Paasche, etc.

I've never seen cans of "Instant Talent" up here in Canada. I'd settle for a small tube of "So-so Talent" or "Stop Spilling Paint Out Of Color Cups"!

IMHO there is probably no "perfect" airbrush that will do it all.  Having said that, the ones mentioned are all excellent and would be good choices.  For myself, I have two Iwatas, the Eclipse BCS and the HP-C the latter being best for fine lines and small subject background spraying.  I also have a Paasche H, single action, which I use for basecoats on 1/35th armor and 1/48th aircraft.  This is a tried and true airbrush and very easy to use and maintain.  I often revert to using the Paasche because it is so problem free.  If your budget allows you might consider two airbrushes.  www.dixieart.com is a great place to buy.
