clear coat - acrylic or enamel
Posted by semibold on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 9:50 AM
so im ready to seal my camo, panel line wash, oil sludge wash... is there a general rule of thumb to only use a clear coat that matches the type of paint you use? ie: enamel clear over enamel paint and acryl clear over acryl paint, or does it not matter?

It doesn't matter.  I have used like combinations i.e. enamel clear over enamel paint as well as Future over acrylic which naturally work.  My more typical usage is enamel paints and acrylic Future over that.  The one posibility that I have not tried is enamel clear over acrylic paint, but I would expect that would work fine.  As long as the paint underneath is decently cured, you should have no problems.
