Paint Questions
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, September 8, 2007 10:19 PM
I am trying to find a color that comes close to Braniff International's orange from back in the sixties when they painted their aircraft a solid color, any ideas? I thought that I had found my color in testors "racing orange" but it is a flat neon orange which is not even close to what I am looking for. All I can find localy is testors but if I can order something else online at a decent price I'll do it. My second question is are rattle cans ok or is a cheap airbrush better? I probably won't build enough to justify the investment in a real good airbrush but I would like my models to be fit for public viewing while on display in my office. Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you thought about having an automotive paint shop mix up the color for you? Take in a picture or color sample and maybe they can mix up a small bit. Maybe someone can chime in on using automotive enamels in an airbrush?
