A touch up here and a touch up there...

All,

So I'm working on my model last night and I notice an area where I'd like to touch up the paint. I mask it off, paint, and then notice that some of my paint made it under the mask. Now I've got to touch up where I touched up. Tongue [:P]

I've had to do this a couple of times now, and it's usually not a big deal. Does this happen to any of you guys and gals?

Regards,

-Drew

Are you using an airbrush? If so, you might want to try free-handing it, if it's in a place where that's possible. Just huff on the tiniest dusting of paint over the offending area, in a tight pattern, with no masking. If the colors are dead on, you should see no lines or points of separation.

You can try sealing the masked area by spraying a light coat of dullcote or gloss coat to seal the tape from bleed under, then paint the area. I also use a pipe cleaner as a dabbing paint brush.
