Matt Varnish problem
Posted by thetecman on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 1:24 PM
I have just matt varnished my M4 A2 and it has come out gloss! I have tried Xtracrylics and Vallejo Model Air Matt VArnish and had the same results, any help much appriciated.

I've never used either of those products before.  With other matte finishes such as Testors Dullcoat or Future+Tamiya Flat Base, glossiness can occur if the stuff isn't mixed up well enough.  Spraying too heavy a coat can also glossiness.

Yep was bad mixing on my part, although theVallejo matte seems to have lots of little bits of wax type matter inside the bottle, I mixed and shook the Xtracrylics matte and it went on perfectly, as shown on my Sherman build in the armour section.

Thanks ABARNE
