Needing help removing residue from Alclad II finish...
Posted by mucker on Sunday, September 23, 2007 11:12 PM

I have what appears to be chalky water marks left from the decal process on my Alclad II Polished Aluminum finish. They do not wipe of with a gentle polish from a soft cotton cloth. Is there any way to remove these without having to re-paint?

I used Micro-Set  on the decals.

I think its decal glue residue and now your hooped. once it's dry, there's not much you can do. You can try wiping it with a q-tip (gently) dipped in micro set, it may disolve the glue and wipe it off. *disclaimer* - if it totaly screws up the finish - I didn't mention itDunce [D)]
Take this plastic and model it!

Well, Drew, it wouldn't wipe off with soapy water or Windex, so I sprayed another coat over it. Hoepfully this takes care of it. I don't think I messed up any declas, either. Consider it a lesson learned...I should wipe up after I decal.
