Dry brushing with oils/ Thinning?
Posted by Leddy on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 3:30 AM

I am going to dry brush my 3 color camoflauged Tiger with Windsor-Newton oil.  Do you dry brushed straight out of the tube with most of the paint drawn off the brush on towel or cardboard  OR is it thinned first with Turpenoid (What ratio ) and then drawn off on towel or cardboard?  Suggestions appreciated!

Thanks for your help!

I don't thin the paint.  Use a somewhat stiff brush and go back and forth on a paper towel until it looks like there is almost nothing more coming off.  Better to build it up slowly than to try and take it off

I completely agree with Marc's comments.  I use Windsor oils without any thinning,
