Huh?

"Are there two MikeV's?

I don't know what you have against me, maybe it's the fact that I'm not afraid to challenge the input of you "regulars" or maybe it's the act that I can support my arguments with facts. I'm not sure.  But if you are going to challenge my input, you should back up what you say.

I was going to post this in the thread, but I'm better than that.  I don't respond to many threads, and I usually reserve my input to threads I know something about.  I know that reducing the PSI will help him; you know that reducing the PSI will help.  Don't just challenge me to get cool points with your forum buddies.

Remember this forum is not real life, it's meant to be fun, not just for you but others as well.  If you feel I'm wrong on a subject, by all means challenge me, I love a good "fight."  However have some proof to back up your argument.  I learn stuff from this forum every week, it's great stuff, but I also learn a lot about people...a let's just say it's NOT all great stuff."

I didn't think I was being rude in my posts to this thread.

If I was then please accept my apologies for this. I was in no way trying to be an "expert" on these matter.

IMO Yes...if someone tries to settle a disput in private you should keep it private...and not "air" your "dirty laundry" to try and justify your personal feelings.

I notice your did some creative editing Mike...nice work!

It amazes me how newbies come along on forums and all of a sudden they think their opinions matter more than those of us who have probably forgotten more about airbrushing than them. Grow up!

I don't have a dog in this fight and as for what's going on between the two of you guys is completely your business, but that line above really annoys the daylights out of me.

It makes absolutely no difference how long you've been on a forum.  To just assume a new person on a forum is not educated on a particular subject is ignorant.  For all anyone knows, Iyaayas invented the airbrush.  Just because he (or anyone else) is new to the forum, doesn't mean he's new to the hobby.  Heck, for all you know, he could be a professional model maker in the film industry for 30 years.

All I'm saying is that for all the proposed knowledge you've gleamed in your 4 years here (see, it can go both ways), never assume you're the top dog.  There's always going to be someone more knowledgeable just waiting to show you what you don't know.  Post counts don't mean jack.

Thumbs Up [tup]

Gentlemen,

Let's keep the conversation civil and leave the personal attacks off the Forums. This is not the place to air this kind of emnity.

Thanks,

That would make him well over 100 years old. Laugh [(-D]

I did not mean to sound arrogant but it bothers me when people send me PMs like his when I meant no harm whatsoever in my original post. No I am not "top dog" but I think I know airbrushes well enough that someone shouldn't have to resort to sending me messages as though I don't have any "facts" in my answers.

I have received PMs from other members here who I respect greatly and they say this is not the first time this person has stirred the pot.

Mike,

When one is insulted privately, it is generally best to:

  1. Ignore it. If it cannot be ignored,
  2. keep it private. This preserves option 1.

Most of us know what kind of stress you've been under lately. If, at some point unknown to me, you were not your usual urbane and diplomatic online self, that's quite understandable. I cannot speak for others, but I doubt very much that your standing here is in the faintest jeopardy.

Thank You Ross, you are always a gentleman, a scholar and a good friend. Make a Toast [#toast]

Please disregard this whole thread as it has become silly to say the least.

Iyaayas,

No hard feelings my friend, lets just move on and not cause dissention between us for such a mundane thing as a forum post. Wink [;)]

If I posted something untrue then please correct me so we can all learn.

God Bless

Mike,

Like I said, whatever disagreements you may have with Iyaayas are completely between the two of you and none of our business.  I meant no harm and was not attacking you personally.

It's just that I've seen on several forums over the years that the guys with the high post counts, more than usually, discount those with lower post counts as unknowlegeable.  But I've seen, more times than I care to remember, where the "newbie" was actually an industry professional and knew way more than any 10 other members combined.

So when people claim the people don't know anything based on the post count, it just kind of gets on my nerves, because on the internet, you never know who you're talking to.

It's all good.  I think a lot of our forum answers depend upon our own airbrush paradigms.  The vewpoints of others is what keeps our skills growing.  It's sometimes surprising at how passionate people become about airbrushing.  I think it helps keeps the art healthy because there is always something new to learn.
