If that demo brush is a Snap-On BF105 like mine, I think you're gonna like it Big Smile [:D]

My best friend is a snap on dealer, I love walking the inside of the truck asking how much things cost only to find out I cant afford good tools. But boy are they pretty, and when he gets demo stuff he generally will eventually kick it my way. Im waiting for that demo airbrush. To date I have gotten a couple knifes for free as well as the lug nut lock removers, boy have those things gotten a lot of use. I always lose the adaptor to take the locks off, So I have to break them off with the removers, then buy new locks.

It is only the intellect that keeps me sane; perhaps this makes me overvalue intellect against feeling

Badger makes them for Snap-On but Harbor Freight is selling cheap knock-off's made in China and Taiwan and they are NOT made by Badger. They are junk plain and simple.

The Snap-On's cost as much to manufacture as does a real "Badger" so there is no savings there.

That's interesting- I'd wondered who made those airbrushes I'd seen in Harbor Freight. I may pick one of those up as a spare!

Back up the bus, Ben. You used PLIERS on your airbrush? Haven't we already had this chat? SoapBox [soapbox]

You bet we have! Big Smile [:D] I promise I will not have an incident involving pliers this time. Hopefully.

I'll try fitting the cap on different ways, but as you said I don't really even use it. I find it worthless; it just prevents you from seeing how much paint you got left. You guys are right, I should just be happy a have an airbrush back. But I still wish that it said Badger 100LG...Sigh [sigh]

Who cares about the engraving as long as it works!?!  I'm a bit surprised that you got it back so soon.  Well, have fun painting.

Oh, one last thing: Good Luck!

Seriously Ben, after the amount of damage you did to your original brush through your own mis-handling, you should be thankful that you have what amounts to a brand-new replacement for the cost of shipping in your hands. I wouldn't be too fussed about the engraving on the side.

Congrats on getting the AB back in minimal time.  Now quit whining about the engraving & get to work on some models Big Smile [:D].

I never use the color cup cover but if I did I would lightly coat it with Badger Needle Juice to make it easier to remove.

Back up the bus, Ben. You used PLIERS on your airbrush? Haven't we already had this chat? SoapBox [soapbox]

Glad to hear you have your brush back, even if it says Snap-On. Try not to soak it in lacquer thinner, eh? Wink [;)]

The color cup cap (say that three times really fast!) on my 100LG only goes in one way, like the cup or cap isn't perfectly round. I find I don't use it all that much. I used siphon fed cups for years and learned to just keep the open end up.

So long folks!

Got my airbrush back from Badger!

Well, as the title implies, it's obviously here....But a few really strange and one annoying thing. The note that came back said "We've replaced the shell with pomel, but wrong engraving."

In other words they replaced the body shell and put my old components back in, which I don't believe is true becaue they all look brand new and don't have Model Master gray all over them anymore. And, even better, it is very shiny. Big Smile [:D]

The reason I was told to send it in was that there was a ridge in the color cup as if something dissolved it, even though it still worked fine.

I swear that this thing must be brand new, because I wrote them a note saying "Didn't  have time to put a head assembly on before I sent it in" and they gave me a new one! Approve [^]

My only complaint...I got a new color cup cap with it, the thing that covers the color cup, and it doesn't fit. Boohoo [BH] Well, actually it does, it's just it's brand new and it takes some strength to push it in all the way, and if you do, it won't come out. Unless, of course, you use pliers like I did once, but that's another story.

Also, about the thing they wrote saying "but wrong engraving" : You all probably know how Badger engraves the model number and USA into the body shell...

Well, instead my shell has "SNAP-ON BF105 USA" engraved. Can someone who has sent their airbrush to Badger and received a new shell please tell me if this is what yours says? I think it's strange, but it doesn't bother me because it's still a 100LG. Engraving it right would've been nice though, and it makes you wonder why didn't they fix it if they told me and they knew it was wrong?

All in all, I can start modeling again and they got it back to me pretty quick, and I'm very happy with their service. Thumbs Up [tup]

EDIT: I googled Snap-On BF105 and I found the explanation for the wierd engraving!

Anyone who plays with their power tools all day knows that Snap-On is a tool company. So apparently they have an airbrush for car detailing and stuff, and it's called the Snap-On airbrush set or something and the model number is BF105! So, SNAP-ON BF105, just as was engraved on my 100LG. The picture shows that the S.O. airbrush set is actually a Thayer & Chandler Omni 4000, which has pretty much the same body as my 100LG. So, I've discovered that Badger probably makes the Omni 4000 for them except engraves Snap-On BF105 on it. Some of you may already know this and think I'm an idiot, but I was curious about it. Still, they could've at least told me what the engraving means, and I'd like for it to say 100LG like it's supposed to.
