Hi Steve,

You could always empty the spray-can into a jar and airbrush it. Just be sure to keep the bottle in warm water as you are spraying into it as the propellant has a tendancy to cool the paint, this also helps to remove any gas particles from the paint. Very effective with Tamiya TS colours.

Tamiya Acrylics

Okay, another paint question. I am starting on Tamiya's 1/48th F4U-1A Corsair. I am wanting to use Tamiya acrylics for the exterior. Again, the problem I am running into with Tamiya paints is nothing matches what the instructions say.

For example it lists AS-8 Navy Blue but it is in a spray can and there is not a bottled to match that colorm for me to airbrush. Very frustrating.

So my question is for those of you that have used Tamiya acrylics to paint a model do you all take a SWAG as to what color matches the closest or find another paint maker that has the exact match?

I really like airbrushing acrylics and am wanting to try different makers of acrylics. I have used Testors and Gunze and have liked the results (Gunze had horrible fumes though and Testors almost none).

Am I taking the paint matching too seriously? Any suggestions are great.

Thanks,
Steve
