New Tamiya colors?
Posted by stikpusher on Saturday, January 19, 2008 11:49 PM
I was out of town the past several days and visited a hobby shop where I was staying. I found several "new", to me anyways, Tamiya Acylic colors. The JGSDF  brown (XF-72) is self explanatory, but I also say a "royal gray"(XF-80),  "IJN Gray Green"(XF-76), "Kure Gray" (XF-75), and a "Linoleum Deck Brown"(XF-79). I presume the last two colors are for IJN ships, but is the IJN Gray Green supposed to be the much debated "Amiero"? And is the "Royal Gray" a Royal Navy color? Tamiya's website is not much help.

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Hi there,
Best I've been able to find out is that it is a Royal Navy colour. How accurate and whether it's based on 'Battleship Grey' or the Navy 'Blue Grey' I'm not sure, maybe the guys n gals who build the floating stuff could expand the info. From what I know of Tamiya they have a very Japanese bias in their colours, so perhaps it's their idea of what a Royal Navy Grey should be ?
All the best,
Mick C.
