Cheap Airbrush?
Posted by ww2modeler on Thursday, January 24, 2008 11:57 AM

Could anyone reccomend a relatively cheap single-action airbrush that is a good quality? I already have a compressor and airhose so all I need is the actuall airbrush.

Run, don't walk to http://www.badgerairbrush.com and click on the Garage Sale button.

Whoops, just checked the link and it's down at the moment with the note that it will be back up later today or tomorrow. I expect they are starting to run out of airbrushes!

They have the 200-NH on for (IIRC) $18 and the 100LG or Omni 4000 double action on for $26.

If you miss the sale, you can buy the 200-NH for around $46 online at Dixie Art. Bear Air and Badger no longer seem to stock them, which tells me they are going the way of the dodo.

I would buy the 100LG or Omni 4000 myself. In fact I bought one of each!

So long folks!

Not all air hoses fit all airbrushes...keep that in mind.

Iwata hose does not fit Paasche. Different fittings.

True enough, though adapters are available. If you do buy an airbrush from the Badger Garage sale, get one of their braided hoses with the moisture trap, they're going for $7!

That is why I use the Badger airhose with the quick connects on it.

Each of my airbrushes has a male quick connect so changing airbrushes is just like a regular air compressor hose, very fast.

I had a Badger before so would the air hose be compatible with a newer one?

How cheap? Smile [:)] If it was me, I would get a Badger 200 (beside the garage sale on badger's website).
