Would suggest cleaning lacquer with lacquer thinner, be careful of the vapors and it is very flammable.  DO NOT TAKE APART NOZZLES!  THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT BACK TOGETHER AND WORK PROPERLY. I use an ultrasonic pen cleaning bath with Koh-i-nor cleaning solution (no vapor or flammability issues) and have great succes but it takes 3 to 4 hours to clean completely with soaking and ultrasound.
