Just about to begin painting the Accurate Miniatures F-6. It has the standard stripes on the underside, but recommends the upper stripes should be painted out as on the real aircraft they were hastily removed. To get an idea what I'm after, this is their publicity shot
The underside of the wings will be easy, but what's the best way of doing the fuselage? I've done stripes before and just wrapping one bit of masking tape around doesn't work as you end up with kinks (although I know the stripes were often rather crude on the real aircraft.) So I need to work out how to make level lines on the nose and fuselage. Secondly, how do I get the overpainted stripes look? I was thinking of airbrushing them as normal, then spraying with thinned Olive Drab. Any adivce much appriciated
