Hi, if you are using model master range then 3 parts paint to 2 part thinner. You will acheive a reasonable sheen but your not going to get an automotive quality sheen unless you are going to sand off all that detail and wet sand each coat as you put it on. Hope this helps you a bit. Cheers

Help with thinning testers gloss enamel paint
Posted by gjek on Monday, March 24, 2008 12:59 PM
OK so I am being a little wimpy not wanting to mess up my color coat. As an armor guy flat acrylic paint is my forte. However airbrushing gloss enamels I don't normally do. What is a good thinning ratio? I started to spray yesterday but the sheen wasn't looking right so I stopped. I am looking for a smooth glossy finish. Can someone offer any helpful suggestions.  Thanks. I primed with a thin coat of automotive gray primer.
