Finally about to start my first project after a long hiatus from the hobby. The project is AM's F3F-2. The primary paint will be Hawkeye's Talon* for the aluminum fuselage, fabric surfaces, with the exception of the top wing upper surface. Then Model Master's Acryl* over the rest of the aircraft's components and the stripe just aft of the office applied over the Talon.*
I've been thinking I should lay down a primer coat using bottled Floquil Primer*. Am I asking for trouble spraying acrylics over the enamel or is it a matter of giving the enamel enough time to cure** to prevent any problems?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrick
PS First step will be a good cleaning of the styrene parts trees with a dish soap wash and then before painting a final cleaning with Isopropyl Alcohol 91%.
* These are all paints now in my inventory.
** Recommended curing time?
