I am building 1/48 King Tiger Tank. An article I found was discussing

painting the tracks and had mentioned dunkelgeib. Does anyone know what this paint is?

I'd bet you'll find an answer in the 'Armor' Forum!

I'm not sure why the article would have mentioned dunkelgelb in relation to painting the tracks, as dunkelgelb ("dunkel" = dark, "gelb" = yellow - literally "dark yellow") is a base camouflage color used on German armor. It's the sandy base color over which red brown and/or olive green camouflage is applied.

A version of dunkelgelb is available from almost every major model paint manufacturer. Just don't ask which one is the most accurate - lol. Clown [:o)]Dunce [D)]
