I've already thought of what I'd do if I decided to get rid of the AB and Grifter's idea came to mind. Send it COD with no return address to whoever wants it.

But I still haven't decided if I should keep the AB or not, it'll depend on how much time I have down the road. I might just keep it in sotrage for a few years for when I have time to come back and clean it up as a spare AB.

I don't post here very much anymore as I'm conent with what I know about this hobby and take 2 or 3 months to finish a 1/72 tank, now trying my hand at a 1/72 WW2 heavy cruiser in a work camp in northern Canada. I'll probably make a post on the bare esentials when on the move later.

-edit- Oh and I'm currently using a relatives laptop, over 4,000km away form said AB -edit-

"though I'll probably end up getting a new AB after this. "

If you'd rather throw it away than clean it feel free to give it to me, I'll give you my address and pay for the postage.

well, I tried soaking in windex, HOWEVER I didn't have time to clean the AB out so it now sits in a containter to fully dry and cure over the next month or 2 (or 6, maybe).

At least i'll get good pratice cleaning out an AB though I'll probably end up getting a new AB after this.

If it's just acrylics that are gunked up in there, take the brush apart and let the parts soak in Windex (with ammonia).  The ammonia should be able to break up the gunked up stuff in a matter of an hour or two.

Try a degreaser. I personally use Super Clean, it is a concentrated degreaser that comes in a gallon size purple jug. A word of caution: Super Clean has gummed up on me before (after parts were in for a week) , and the container says that you shouldn't let it dry on any surface, so at the very least put it in a sealed container. It really doesn't take long to strip paint with this stuff, so an hour or so will be plenty of time, then you can just rinse it in some warm water and you should be good.

You may also want to remove all the rubber parts of the AB before using Super Clean. I have heard of rubber parts getting ruined because of adverse reactions to some chemicals.

After just talking about AB's, I remembered that I had clogged up my AB while trying "Tri-Art: Finest Quality" air brush acrylics.  I had taken the AB apart and placed in some water with the intension of cleaning it up later that evening.

That was 3 weeks ago (sealed container so it was kept wet).

 AB model Iwata Eclipse: HP-CS.

So what would be the best solution to brake up the now firm gunked up paint that is stuck throughout the AB.

 Halp! (typo intended)

-edit- Ah yes, i recall why it gunked up. Without thinking I had reached for the 99% isopropyl alcohol instead of the Tri-Art paint medium to thin it with. Bad things followed.
