Spray Booth Vendors in Canada
Posted by rodc on Friday, May 30, 2008 10:26 AM

Hello All,

I am in the market for a spray booth and have been doing a lot of reading about the more popular ones such as Paasche, Pace, Badget, Artograph, etc.

The big problem I am having is finding a dealer who is located in Canada in order to avoid higher shipping costs, duties, customs, etc.

Anyone know of a reputable dealer in Canada?  Google gives lots of hits but they are all American or those stupid link sites which are for the most part useless.

Any help is appreciated!

So what you're saying is that the word Free in NAFTA doesn't mean Free at all?

You might have to find a friend in Maine who will let you ship one to him, then take a weekend to run down and pick it up. Just be sure to unbox it and dirty it up with a bit of paint overspray to give it that "used' look. Then if the customs boys ask...you just say you went down to do a demo with some friends.

Or you could stick a Coleman camp stove inside, then tell them you use it as part of your camping gear to bake things while on a camping trip to the states. Chef [C=:-)]

The problem is you'll either pay through the nose on duty and shipping, or pay through the nose if you can find a Canadian distributor since they pass the duty and shipping onto the consumer. Try contacting the US distributors and see if they have a way of getting it to you with a lower than regular price invoice. That way the duty isn't quite so high. I ended up building my own!

And sadly the NAFTA doesn't actually mean free to consumers, only free to pick your pocket! Grumpy [|(]

I'm in the same boat too.  I cannot believe that it can be so hard to find a decent spray booth in a country this size.

If you find a good Canadian supplier or manufacturer you would make me a very happy person.  Even an American supplier with a decent price would suffice right now.

As for NAFTA...Don't get me started...

Thanks for the input guys......I just ordered a Paasche HSSB-22-16 through my LHS.......delivered to their store with taxes is costing me ~$270 which I didn't think was too bad given that I have to pay 13% HST......

Hey guys I have some very good deals on Col-Met Booths if you are interested, they come from USA but I can see if i can at least get you a very aggressive deal delivered. I have worked with canadian companies before, and have some experience since we used to manufacture in canada at my old company so I am confident I can at least get you a decent overall price, specially if both of you guys are needing a booth, probably be able to freight it together.

I also have Spray Booth Parts, Filters, Accessories

you can check out my site at www.sprayboothsupplies.com

If there is anything i can help you with my name is Manolo
