Hi Kovy17! I purchased an aftermarket trap for my new compressor but haven't installed it......because during the Badger 'Garage Sale' I bought two 10 foot AB hoses with in-line filters! (very cheaply during the sale!)

I have had no moisture troubles......the line doesn't pulse.....and I'm able to procrastinate installing the moisture trap to the compressor!

That's a very good point. I actually have three, one on the compressor (which is outside), one at my booth after the regulator, and an in-line one on the hose. Moisture is not a concern!

So long folks!

Consider getting an n line moisture trap that is inserted in you air hose fairly close to the airbrush.  Even if you have an integrated moisture trap/regulator attached to your compressor, moisture can still condense in the hose, downstream from the moisture trap, with the result of your airbrush spitting water droplets.  That had happened to me a couple of times (ironically while I was painting with acrylics so it did not ruin the paint job), so I put in an in-line trap which has completely eliminated the problem.

One of the issues with comressed air is moisture being squeezed out of the air and wrecking your paint job. A moisture trap stops that from happening. I use a el cheapo one I bought at Princess Auto (think Canadian Harbor Freight) for less then $10.

So long folks!

What is the purpose of a moisture trap? Is it something you absolutely need, or can you do without it. I have to buy a regulator for a badger compressor and I found a cheap one         (HUSKY Regulator With Gauge) but it is only the regulator. I also saw a badger regulator & trap, but is is $62.
