i don't know if anyone has already asked this yet. if they have, then i'm sorry for the repitition. i'm kinda new here.
i don't know if there is a way to make gloss paint more glossier. or even the alclad chrome more glossier. but i would like to make my alclad chrome more shinier. at least twice as reflective.
i'm rather new to the whole modeling industry, so i don't know much about paint or clear coats.
has anyone tried to make there alclad chrome finish more shinier? i am not trying to make a auto racing car, so the parts that i am painting is not plastic or lexan.(not really sure what this is)
the parts that i want to paint are plastics and resins.
i have used both tamiya acrylic black gloss and the alclad brand gloss black. alclad produces a smoother finish, but acrylic black gloss seems to be a little more glossier. but both are not good enough for the chrome.
after the chrome application, there is no reflection. if i put my finger right next to the chrome finish, all i see is a blurred flesh tone shaped as a finger. i can't see my face or anything. but i don't know if anyone has gotten it to be this reflective.
is there a gloss clear coat that i can use to make this affect work? i hear people talk about future, lacquer glosscote, enamel glosscote. but i don't hear anything too great about any of them. from yellowing to not being glossy.
any tips will help.
thanks
