Like some input on some weird things I might try.

Last weekend I was out to storage to see if I could find a box of a/c and engine data plates I've collected over the years (I'm a terrible pack rat - just ask my wife).  Anyway in my digging I came across two servicable air pressure guages - one is 0 - 100 psi and one is 0 - 30 psi and a couple of single place mounting plates for 2-1/8" instruments (guess what size the pressure guages are).  Yesterday, while getting folding chairs out of the garage, I found two 10" lengths of 1/4" tubing and a couple of boxes of AN fittings I had forgotten about.

Anyway, I got to thinking about replacing the 0 - 200 psi guage on my regulator/water trap - I'll pull the guage, replace it with the appropriate AN fitting, run tubing from the AN fitting back under the desk, up the right rear corner of the spray booth then forward to the guage which will be mounted in one of the mounting plates on the upper right of the booth.  Of the two guages, I'm leaning towards the 0 - 30 guage because I think it would give me better control of my air pressure (like maybe 1/4 lb increments).  What are your thoughts?  (other than I probably don't need to do it)

Your thinking sounds good to me. You'd get a more accurate measurement of the pressure you regulator is delivering to your airbrush.

I tend to agree as well.  The only down side that I see is that you might see a slight pressure drop across the line from the regulator to the gauge causing it to read slightly low.  Since it's a relative reading anyway that doesn't really matter though.  Also you will need to use care to insure that you don't regulate the pressure much above 30 psi or you might damage the gauge.

Thanks guys, going to give it a go - although not this weekend - on call and have zilch signal on the Blackberry in the basement.  And yea, figured out it would probably a good idea to get back into the habit of zeroing out the regulator pressure before I shut off the air.
