Glosscoat question
Posted by Anthonyb on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 8:24 PM
ok, I am ready to apply glosscoat to my A-10 for decaling.  Do I apply the glosscoat over the canopy as well, or do I avoid spraying the canopy?

Yep, mask it off. Don't spray glosscoat over the canopy. The same applies for the flat coat afterwards, unless you want your canopy to look like frosted glass...

I agree with Phil_H on this one.....NEVER spray over any clear plastic canopies, or windshields.....unless your going for the frosted look !

This is what happens when just a little dullcoat comes into contact with clear parts.

thought I could get by without masking, just hit a few spots with the dullcoat. WRONG! Had to scratchbuild a new windshield. I learned a lesson and Hopefully This Helps.

 Best Regards,
