Stickers & Mr. Mark Setter
Posted by Wizartar on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 8:07 AM

I'm new to the forums and have only recently got into model making.  I've tryed to look this up with the search but I've only found infromation about Water Decals not Sticker Decals.  Can you use Mr. Mark Setter on Stickers (non-water) that peel off the sheet and you attach to the model?

As far as I know, Mr. Mark Setter is for decal only. Stickers are fairly strong in terms of adhesiveness anyways, so I don't really understand why you want to use Mr. Mark Setter on stickers....

OK, the short answer is I don't know what I'm doing and learning as I go a long.  I was read there was a way to make your decals look like they were painted on, so was hoping to get the same effect for my stickers.

We all learn as we go a long.

Decal setting solutions won't work on stickers.

What type of kit are you building? (I am thinking: "stickers, mmhhh, most kits have decals except gundams, so maybe a gundam?")

Yes for *waterslide decals* you can (and I recommend you do) use things like MicroScale Set/Sol to prepare the surface and soften the decal, that's why you get a "painted-on" look.
As far as stickers, my suggestion is: Don't use them... The reason being simple that they really make your model look non-realistic and toy-ish. I'd rather mask and paint than using stickers unless it's a place that's hard to do masking.
That's my two cents. Hopefully it helps. :D
