MicroMark Decal Paper

I've used Micro Mark's decal sheets, both for laser and ink jet, with good results using a HP Laserjet 4 and a HP Deskjet 895CSE. I utilize the 895 printer for color decals and the laser printer where I only need decals in black. One thing I've done is to first give the blank sheets of decal paper a shot of clear flat and let it dry. Immediately after printing, either on the laser or 895, I give the completed decal another shot. I tend to let everything dry for approximately a day before applying.

i tried a few on my Epson C60, and it seemed to work ok....

I have used both laser and inkjet types with great results. Using the injet I printed them using my Lexmark X-83 inkjet. Dark colors were very opaque and decal edges were sharp. Ocasionally the decal inks would smear if trimmed very close the the images but a coat of MicroMarks "Final Step" decal spray solved this. Using the Laser paper printed with the Alps and my Magicolor color Laser Printer, results were awesome...leaps and bounds over the inkjet made decals. The laser printed decals didn't smear, smudge or lift, nor when scatched. Laser printers uses heat to bond the images to the decal paper so for 98% of the time no sealing spray was used after printing them. For light colors I used white laser paper, and clear for darker images and black stenciling. I've compared other brands and I have to say that I wil stick with Micro-Mark, they have a good product that works very well with my printers. Good luck!

So you used the Alps color printer? Who makes the magic color laser printer? I would be looking for a printer just for decals as my other are for doing photographs. I can make excellent reproductions, but I need to get them printed as excellent.

Minolta (the camera company)makes the Majicolor laser printers. Check Ebay and other electronic stores online to compare prices. I got mine at my local Office Depot for around $500.00. I use it soley for decals, but not limited to general printing. The output quality is awesome.

Thats a good idea on the over coat of the sheets after printing. HP ink will run if water hits it. One of the things my wife will do after printing photos on her HP is to seal the photo. Its the only thing I don't like about the HP printers.
