HEY,
Keeping extra decals is very important. For autos, they sometimes have two different versions of the vehicle, and you have to keep the extra decals if you want to use them to customize a different model. This is especially true with race cars.

Always keep my extra decals. You never know when they'll come in handy.

I also keep Spare decals, they come in handy for me when I want to do custom paint jobs (Bike Models, etc) too.

OTOH, they can also be cut up to make new decals for other projects or help in repairing damaged decals, etc.

I always keep any extra decals from my kits just for that purpose. The most likely candidates for using other decals are nationality markings, branch, swastikas, etc. You never know what might be useful...

It seems logical that if you work in one scale, say 1/72, you could use aftermarket decals made for a popular model like the F4-D for an older kit like its granddaddy the F3H-2. Does anyone do that, or is it just wishful thinking?
