Wrinkled decals WAS: Solvaset dry time
Posted by Bones-coa on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 4:25 PM
Guys, I'm trying feverishly to finish my 1/32 Mig-29 and the decals are being a bear. After being applied with solvaset and let sit for over a week, they are showing signs of permenent wrinkles. So, I brushed on some more Solvaset. I assume this was the right thing to do. In any case, I had planned to shoot it with another coat of Future before I caught this. How long do I need to let this dry before I go ahead with Future? Hours or days?

Thanks.

Ok, I need to add to this post as I now have a bigger problem. I woke this morning and looked at the decals after they had dried overnight and the things are wrinkled...badly!! Is there any hope? I've never seen decals do this! Can these be saved?

Dana,

How'd they turn out? Were you able to salvage the decals?

Regards,

Nope. I think it was an issue with the decals themselves. I decided to leave well enough alone.
