You could use Inkscape, it's a vector program and is free.  Also there is a MAC version.

Decals

Hi Gang,

Hey I am new to the Forum area and recently started a build of a 1/72 (Mars kit?)U.S. Marine M60A1 W/ Reactive armor used early in the first Gulf incursion. The kit was a thrown in bonus because I bought like 10 kits from a guy on EBay, so my buddy owns a model shop and we are both retired Marines I am 4th generation, my son is 5th and will be leaving next Sunday for his third tour in the Gulf! Anyway we are putting together a memorial for the local Marine corps. league club house and all contributions are welcome, so I thought I will build it, well imagine my chagrin when I open the box and no reactive armor and no decals. I was irritated but I said OK it can be an M60A1 but still no decals and normally being a 1/35th scale this is a huge problem, however I thought one of you folks could help. I recently acquired an new Apple MacBook Pro and a new Kodak all in one photo printer (dot matrix) and I have heard of freeware available that one can use to produce decals and then of course with a sheet or two of decal film I can make what I need. I also thought this would be handy as my son has sent or uploaded literally thousands of photos to my Mac and I could also duplicate the original artwork these guys have created such as the names they put on the muzzle evacuators on the M1's. Can anyone direct me to the resources I need? You folks are the experts and I beg of your assistance! Thank you. It would mean a lot to my/ our fellow military brothers.

Thanks,

Newarmorman

P.S. The artwork on the box is a perfect copy of the 1/35th Tamiya kit of the same description.
