Cleaning up old decals
Posted by MQM107 on Monday, November 23, 2009 10:04 AM

OK the subject line is abit misleading but, I have a old set of decals that I Knew would explode when they hit the water. So I tryed one I was not going to use and sure enough it did. So I coated the rest with Microscale decal film. This was some what successful in holding them together, but 40 year old decals just are not what they used to be. I was smart enough though to make a scan of them before I tried to use them. But heres the rub they were yellowed and that came through on the scan. The full color decals are ok but the text on clear still show the yellow tint. What software program can I use to clean up the scan to take the yellow back ground color out?

Thanks

You can use Adobe Photo Shop, Corel Photo Paint or any graphics software that you can choose a color mask.

Thanks! Tried that and worked great, now on to putting the Gulf Oil decals on the tanker trailer.
