silvering

I don't mean to sound like a novice here, but is silvering when the clear part of the decal becomes cloudy and visible rather than clear like it should be? I have a problem with this and I cant seem to get the clear part to stay clear. I'm thinking of purchasing some microset and some solvaset. what do you think?

yep, that's silvering!!

after my decals are dry I put a coat of model master flat clear, and on the rare occasion, there is still some sivering, but another coat takes care of it.

I've also noticed that putting those coats on, helps my decals to conform over detail, such as rivets.

The cause of decal "silvering" is air trapped between the model's surface & the glue side of the decal. Decals are least troublesome when applied to a smooth glossy surface. Decal setting solution lowers the surface tension of the water used to loosen the decal from its backing, lessening the chance of air becoming trapped under the decal. Decal solvents help the decal conform to irregular surfaces by "softening" the decal. I use Future floor polish as a gloss coat, and I seal the decals with Future before applying my final coat (Testor's Dullcoat)
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help guys. That will make my M2 Bradley a little more presentable! By the way, I had a question about Future. I read about it all the time in FSM and recently I purchased some, but I want to make sure its the right stuff. Its says on the front, Future premium brand floor polish. Is this right? And if it is, is it able to go straight into an airbrush without any clogging?

Here is a link with lots of info on future and a picture of the bottle...(that might help you identify it.) http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html
You should spray future straight from the bottle. Its consistency is just right for airbrushing.
