Try Scotch tape, masking tape works pretty good for me.

Hi James

Try wetting down the decal (with water) and laying a piece of cling wrap over it, then let it sit overnight. the cling wrap stops the water evaporating so the decal can soak long enough for the adhesive to soften. You should then be able to scrape it off with a tooth pick and tissue (or cotton bud).

Removing Old Decals
Posted by sidewinder77 on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 2:14 AM

Need advise regarding removal of decals on some ageing planes that I intend to rebuild and repaint. I have some 10year old planes that i build back in college. Ive heard of some decal removal solutions but Im not sure if its available from where I am, havent checked yet but, what are the alternatives for this? are there any common household stuff that can do the job?

thanks all in advance,

James
