Help finding a Decal Sheet or Someone That Makes them
Posted by rrmmodeler on Thursday, January 14, 2010 8:19 PM

Okay here is the story. One of my prised models....a Tamiya P-47D razorback took a tumble from its display area and crashed. The poor little thing as surivied three moves, and is just one of my favorite completions. The result of the crash was a lost tail wheel, broken landing gear strut, broken landing gear doors. Repairable I know and that is what I intended to do. Unfortunately, to add insult to injury it got paint splattered onto his finished surface just this weekend and I only noticed it after the paint had dried. I am afaid if I try to remove the splatters I will destory the finish..

So what I have in mind to do is just start over and rebuild the model....with my improved skills and I know can do even better. I got alot of praise on this model back when I finished her. So now I could really make it stunning...I think. lol

The problem is that the markings I used are OOP. The decal sheet I used was Eagle Strikes 48053. The markings I used from this sheet was The Scarab, tail coed number 276588.

So what I am asking is there anyone that might still have this sheet and didn't use those markings and is willing to part with them....or is there still someplace that still has sells the sheet. (I have looked on the internet and just can't find anything.) Or is there someone that has the abitity to make the decals for me? Any help would be most appricated.

Unfortunately FSM doesn't have a trade/sale section but many forums do, you might look around. Also watch eBay. You've asked so give it a little time, someone may have a sheet they are willing to part with or provide you a scan of. Who knows maybe the sheet will get rereleased.

rrmmodeler,  I'm not sure where those particular decals may come from, maybe someone in these pages will come through.  If you would like to look at other options in 1/48, Modeling Madness has a nice library of decal reviews. It would be an easy way to take a look at a bunch of other options. I think the link below might take you right to the P-47 Decal page.  Rick

I have searched ebay before and have never come up with this sheet. I have actually been looking for this sheet for a few years now as the same sheet had Hot Packing Mama on it as well and I planned on doing that plane back then but things got in the way and since then those marketings have dissappeared. Now I have the superscale's sheet that has Hot Packing Mama on it. So now I just want the Eagle Strike sheet to replace the model that has crashed.

What I was hopping to find is someone or a company that might able to do a one off sheet or something of that nature of the marketing if I provided what I need. I know that may be my only option. I also know that Squadron now owns Eagle Strike but I am not putting much hope they will release that sheet. Anyway I will keep looking and hoping...

Thanks.
