Old Decals
Posted by jason18 on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 8:58 PM

Hello,

I have a an old Scalecraft (I assume they're out of business) AB.205 Iroquois helicopter model that my grandpa gave me.  The decals are in good condition but since they're so old (from about the late 80s - early 90s) I'm not sure what to do with them.  Anyone with advice, please post it.

Thanks

Jason

I've used 80's vintage fecals without problems, but if you're concerned, it may be a good idea to give them a coat of something like MicroScale's Liquid Decal Film before using. It's a fixative which will add a clear layer to the decals to help prevent them from cracking when you dip them in water.

Testor's Decal Bonder works pretty good..  Just remeber that after you spray it on, your decal sheet will have the film over the entire sheet... Cut your decals out one by one, cutting right at the edge of the decal..
