Need help dealing with curling decals...second time..can't afford mistake again
Posted by Stuart06 on Monday, December 20, 2010 8:32 AM

I previoulsy made a 1.350 ship from Trumperter.  I put some Micorsol setting solution on the landing pad and put some decal repair solution on the decal to make sure it did not tear when removing from the decal sheet.  After placing the decal on the helicoptor pad, after a few minutes when the decal starting to dry, it started to curl,,,, Yikes.

Since I am a purrfekshonist,,,I am now working on the same ship and need to put the decals on agian.  I wonder if anyone has used Trumperter decals and if so do they have a reputation of having issues with decals they provide.

Quesion 1   If I overdouse the decal with the Microsol repair solution and/or put too much setting soluiton down, can that damage the decal.  And if so...how much is enough

Question 2  What is the best method to prepare the decal before applying.   I am assuming either that Trumperter's decals do not have enough bonding agent on them or are old and have lost that sticky feeling.
