You don't have to. But if you ever want to resell them, especially when they become rare and hard to find...having the covering is better. Just like dust jackets on books...those with them are valued higher than those without.

Some manufacturers cover their decals with paper with one waxy side while others have decals covered with paper which doesn't have a waxy side.  I have been removing  this paper when I put the decals in sandwhich bags for storeage.  Should the paper be kept on the decals when storing them?
