I'm FINALLY at the point of applying decals to the 1/48 scale C-130J kit I've been working on for months now. But I made the mistake of actually finding all sorts of great photos of the REAL C-130Js the Maryland ANG fly. Sigh. Many of the decals included in the kit are just plain wrong. Others are not scaled at all right (like little, hard-to-notice things like the huge "U. S. AIR FORCE" logo down the side of the fuselage).
So... does anyone happen to know of anyone who makes the correctly scaled and designed markings for this model? Or should I just use what I have and pretend that I didn't know any better? (gulp).
For what it's worth, I've been disappointed in the overall quality of this kit. For a large scale like 1/48 (for a large aircraft like this, as well!) I had assumed that the parts would fit together MUCH better, and the various alignment and mounting tabs and bumps and holes would have been MUCH better disguised.
I was going to take this one to work and put it on display, but the more problems I keep running into with this kit the more I'm almost embarrassed to do so. A shame, since I've put countless hours into this project.
