Cutting a decal at a panel line is generally not a problem. If you don't have a razor blade handy, a #11 Xacto usually works fine unless it is really old and dull. Cut it either before or after clearcoat.

Nathan T Cut it now with a sharp (new) razor blade. Then You'll have to apply more setting solution to the cut edges. Then when that dries (sucks down), apply your clear coats.

Only way to do it. And to be honest, there's nothing wrong with doing it this way either, it ensures that your decal lines up from piece to piece.

Ok, so I made the mistake of applying the supplied Revell hood decal to their Earnhardt Jr Oreo car. The decal is oversized for the hood and now I am unable to open the hood as the decal overlaps onto the front fender. What is the best way to cut this decal between the hood line and front fenders. Should I seal it with a clear coat and then gently cut it with a sharp razor blade or cut it before the clear coat. Anybody got any ideas??
